Since the sale of the art studio in the 1940s, the building has seen a variety of uses, ranging from religious to residential. Located on a 2,835 sf lot sandwiched between two large houses in Seattle’s Leschi neighborhood, the renovation and addition will transform the single-level 1,000 sf structure into a two-level, 1,858 sf home organized around double-height spaces that open to the street, yard, and sky. Pink elements are incorporated throughout the home, inspired by an existing street-facing window that is being repurposed as a guardrail and screen for the interior stairs.
Construction is set to be completed in Spring 2024. Stay tuned!
